Alabama football quarterback Bryce Youthful didn't begin against Texas A&M. He has been managing a shoulder injury.

Scratch Saban considered Youthful a game-time choice on Thursday during his public broadcast.

When the game showed up, Jalen Milroe was the beginning quarterback as No. 1 Alabama crushed Texas A&M 24-20.

"We'll simply see what sort of improvement Bryce makes for the following week," Saban said postgame.

The Blood red Tide (6-0, 3-0 SEC) faces No. 8 Tennessee (5-0, 2-0) next Saturday (2:30 p.m. CT, CBS) at Neyland Arena.

Youthful was in uniform during warmups, however he didn't toss the football.

He mostly remained close to the quarterbacks during warmups and looked as Milroe and green bean Ty Simpson ran with the offense.

Milroe finished 12 of 19 passes for 111 yards and three scores. He ran for 83 yards on 17 endeavors too.

In any case, he bungled two times and tossed a block attempt.

Saban said during the pre-game Blood red Tide Sports Organization radio station that the clinical staff would settle on a choice on Youthful.

Alabama, Saban said, wouldn't seriously jeopardize Youthful on the off chance that he wasn't 100 percent.

Youthful needed to enter the game late, Saban said. Alabama's offense was experiencing difficulty finishing off the game.
